Ideal for students pursuing a placement year in sustainability, engineering, chemistry, or environmental science, it provides a pathway for career development and progression. There may be travel to various UK sites to support project goals. Contributing to our commitment to achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040, you will help make a positive environmental impact.
What you will be doing:
* Providing technical support related to biodiversity strategies and waste management compliance
* Collaborating on projects aligned with EMR’s Net Zero 2040 commitments
* Sampling and analyzing waste streams
* Classifying waste according to hazardous waste guidelines (WM3)
* Assisting with data collection on environmental metrics such as CO2, energy, biodiversity, waste, and water
* Preparing clear and concise reports
* Managing your own schedule and assisting others as needed
About you:
* Second or third-year student in a STEM subject (chemistry, chemical engineering, environmental science)
* Predicted 2:1 or higher in final year
* UK driving licence holder
* Enthusiastic, proactive, and research-oriented
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and in teams
