Offer description

Shape the future of a market-leading, growing financial services business with great ambitions.

Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) is the UK’s leading technology‑driven network for mortgage intermediaries, supporting over 200 AR firms and 2,000 advisers nationwide. We enable our partners to deliver expert, accessible mortgage and financial wellbeing advice, powered by a growing suite of digital platforms, data tools and customer‑first solutions.

With ambitious growth plans, including accelerating market share, scaling through M&A, moving to the FTSE250 Main Market and delivering a full brand evolution, this is an exciting period of transformation. To support this momentum, we’re excited to welcome an exceptional Chief of Staff as a newly created role, to operate at the heart of our leadership team and maximise the impact of our COO’s group operating model.

The Opportunity

This is a career‑defining role for a strategic operator who thrives in complexity, connects the dots across an organisation and brings clarity, structure and pace.

As Chief of Staff, you will be a trusted partner to the COO, acting as a conduit between strategic and operational deliverables across teams; turning vision into action, aligning critical priorities and ensuring we deliver with discipline and impact.

You will be the integrator who ensures the right conversations happen at the right time with the right information. You’ll influence cross‑functionally, drive operational effectiveness, elevate governance and keep our most important initiatives on track.

If you’re energised by shaping strategy, creating order from ambiguity and enabling leaders to operate at their best, this is your opportunity to play a defining role in MAB’s next chapter.

Success at MAB is defined not only by what we deliver, but how we deliver it, with ownership, collaboration, adaptability and a relentless focus on customers.

You’ll join a business with the energy of a scale‑up, the stability of a listed organisation and the ambition of a company redefining its sector through technology, data and design.

What You’ll Lead

Strategic Delivery & Planning

* Turn strategy into clear operational plans, roadmaps and measurable priorities.
* Coordinate annual and quarterly planning cycles across Operations.
* Track delivery, identify risks and drive interventions that keep momentum high.

Leadership Enablement

* Operate as a critical thought‑partner to the COO, offering insight, challenge and clarity.
* Prepare briefings, papers, decks and talking points for Executive and Board forums.
* Work closely with the COO’s PA to run the day‑to‑day rhythm of the COO’s office to maximise time, focus and impact.

Operational Excellence

* Lead or coordinate enterprise projects including organisational effectiveness, risk improvement and cost optimisation.
* Review and triage high‑priority requests to ensure alignment to strategic direction.
* Drive accountability for delivery across the COO’s leadership team.

Communication & Alignment

* Ensure seamless flow of communication across Operations and the wider business.
* Facilitate effective leadership meetings by preparing agenda, papers, tracking actions and outcomes.
* Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders internally and externally.

About You

You’ll excel here if you are a natural simplifier, a proactive problem‑solver and someone who brings calm confidence to evolving environments.

We’re looking for:

* Strong experience in a leadership capacity across strategy, group operations, transformation or organisational effectiveness.
* Proven credibility working alongside C‑suite or senior leaders.
* Exceptional communication, analysis and critical‑thinking skills.
* High integrity, judgement and emotional intelligence.
* The ability to influence without authority and create alignment across complex teams.
* Comfort operating in ambiguity with a proactive, solutions‑focused mindset.
* Fintech, SaaS, scale‑up or financial services sector experience would be an advantage.

Above all, you role‑model our behaviours:
Take Ownership. Customer First. Stronger Together. Embrace Change.

Applications are open until Friday 20th March 2026.
