Salary: £40,000 – £50,000

We’re looking for a Senior Design Engineer to join a leading performance engineering business near Leamington Spa. This is a permanent role, offering the chance to work on cutting‑edge transmission and driveline projects across automotive and motorsport.

Senior Design Engineer Duties:
* Produce detailed mechanical designs, stress calculations, FMEAs, 2D layouts, and tolerance stacks
* Carry out FEA analysis, shaft and bearing analysis, and gear data specification
* Select materials and define manufacturing processes
* Design casings and castings with Creo Simulate (or similar)
* Produce technical reports and documentation
* Support manufacturing and assembly during first‑off builds
* Liaise with customers, suppliers and internal operations to resolve technical queries
* Provide design support for global projects
Senior Design Engineer Profile:
* Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
* Experience in automotive, motorsport or performance engineering environments
* Strong knowledge of transmission systems
* Proficient in 3D CAD (Creo preferred, Catia/NX also considered)
* High competency in 2D drawings and GD&T
* Familiarity with PLM systems (Windchill preferred)
* Understanding of modern manufacturing methods and FEA techniques
* Flexible and capable of working to tight deadlines
* Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel
Desirable: Knowledge of gear geometry, casting methods, additive manufacturing, eMobility drivetrains and hydraulic circuits.
