Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Ward Sister to lead our inpatient nursing team, ensuring the highest standards of clinical excellence and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide strong clinical leadership and management to nursing and support staff.
* Ensure delivery of safe, high-quality, person-centred care and evidence-based practice.
* Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to support holistic care planning and patient flow.
* Promote professional development, reflective practice, and wellbeing among staff.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold hospice values in all aspects of care.
* Ensure adequate staffing and skill mix on the in-patient unit at all times, mitigating risks.
* Serve as a role model and professional nurse leader, fostering open and honest communication.
* Formally appraise senior nursing staff, develop individual development plans.
* Promote the multi-disciplinary team approach in all patient and family care.
* Manage services in line with organisational policy, budget and clinical governance.
* Ensure clinical risk is managed to as low a level as reasonably practicable with a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
* Maintain strict confidentiality.
* Facilitate regular staff meetings and attend other management meetings as required.
* Promote equality, diversity and rights of patients across all clinical areas.

Qualifications
* First-level Adult Registered Nurse.
* Evidence of professional development.
* Relevant qualification in Palliative Care (desirable).
* Management or Leadership qualification (desirable).
* Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in Palliative Care (desirable).
