Job Description:
Through the development of a trusting relationship, provide specialist support for people harmed by domestic abuse. Support them to become safe and rebuild their lives free from domestic abuse. This includes representing their voice, helping them navigate the criminal justice process, and working with statutory agencies to provide wraparound support.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Independent Domestic Violence and Abuse Advisers (IDVAs) to join the Domestic Abuse Team at Cheshire West and Chester Council.
This is a part-time IDVA position working with individuals at high risk of harm from domestic abuse.
Our vision is for all residents of west Cheshire to live lives free from domestic abuse. We strive to improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and families affected by domestic abuse by fostering an environment that encourages disclosure and recovery, while providing support and challenge to those who cause harm. This vision underpins our Domestic Abuse Strategy.

Our IDVAs are essential for delivering high-quality services to those harmed by domestic abuse. You should be a team player and capable of responding swiftly to high-risk situations and service user needs.
Experience in a similar role or supporting vulnerable individuals is preferable but not essential.

This part-time position is hybrid, involving work from home, community engagement with clients, and office work at Wyvern House in Winsford. The team works across Cheshire West and Chester and adopts a flexible, mobile working approach.
