Production EngineerLocation: CheltenhamSalary: circa £42,000 per annumJob Type: PermanentA fantastic opportunity has become available for a motivated and driven Production Engineer to join a growing manufacturing business in Cheltenham.This role is ideally suited to someone with proven experience working as an Engineer within a manufacturing environment who is passionate about continuous improvement, lean manufacturing, and operational excellence.The successful candidate will play a key role in improving manufacturing processes, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and supporting production performance across the site.The RoleAs Production Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering production engineering activities that support quality, cost, and delivery objectives across manufacturing operations.Key responsibilities include:Developing and improving manufacturing processes using Lean techniquesApplying key Lean tools including:Value Stream Mapping (VSM)Line BalancingLayout & FlowKanbanSMEDDesigning manufacturing systems, layouts, fixtures, tooling, and material handling solutionsSupporting continuous improvement initiatives to improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness and reduce wasteCreating engineering drawings and concepts using CAD software (Solidworks) is advantageousAssisting with PFMEAs, process flows, and standard operating proceduresSupporting root cause investigations and 8D problem-solving activitiesDriving value engineering initiatives to reduce manufacturing costsWorking collaboratively across production, quality, and engineering teamsTo be considered, candidates must have:Experience working as an Engineer within a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding and practical exposure to Lean Manufacturing tools and techniquesExperience applying continuous improvement methodologies within production operationsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysisAbility to work independently and as part of a wider engineering teamExcellent communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levelsGood working knowledge of CAD software and Microsoft OfficeDesirable Skills & QualificationsEngineering Degree or Apprentice Trained with HNC/HND in Manufacturing EngineeringLean Manufacturing or Six Sigma qualification/trainingPrevious Solidworks experience is advantageousExperience supporting production improvement and efficiency projectsWhat's on Offer?Competitive salary circa £42,000Fantastic opportunity to develop within a progressive manufacturing environmentExposure to continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing projectsSupportive engineering team and career development opportunitiesVaried and hands-on engineering role with real business impactIf you are a proactive Production Engineer with manufacturing experience and a strong understanding of Lean principles, we would love to hear from you.Please send your cv to PS2
