Is this for you?
This is an opportunity for either a recent food science graduate or someone with a year or two in the food industry already, to join a food business that’s on the up! With a team that’s doubled in size in the past 5 years, an expanding customer base both in the UK and overseas and some big new projects in the pipeline, 2026 is looking like an exciting year.
The role
This is a hands-on role with real scope to grow. This position is ideal for someone who wants more than a box-ticking QA admin job and is keen to develop long-term within the food manufacturing industry.
You’ll begin by learning the fundamentals of Quality Assurance on site, supported by an experienced manager. Typical tasks will include things like:
* Maintaining/updating documents
* Coordinating lab samples
* Performing quality checks
* Managing data records
* Speaking to suppliers and customers on quality-related matters
The person
This role is as much about attitude and potential as it is about qualifications, but these are the essentials:
* Either a recent graduate in Food Science/Nutrition OR someone who has gained a little bit of Quality experience in the food industry and is keen to develop their skills (or both!)
* A confident communicator with strong attention to detail
* Organised and able to manage your workload independently
* Assertive in a positive, constructive way when required
* NOT requiring Visa sponsorship either now or in the future (the busines cannot offer sponsorship)
If you're not sure which direction you'd like your career to grow, this could be ideal - whilst the focus is Quality initially, if you have a real desire to experience NPD or even a commercial path, this is a company that can make that happen for you. Or, you might see Quality and Technical as all you ever want to do and that's fine too!
Salary & benefits
* Guide of £27,000 - £29,000
* Bonus scheme
* Early finish on Fridays
* Holiday entitlement that increases with service
A driving licence and your own vehicle is essential, as public transport options to site are very limited.
