An exciting opportunity has emerged for a Geo-environmental Consultant to join our successful team based in Northampton.
Geotechnical and geo-environmental consulting is a core discipline at Hydrock, with strong leadership from our CEO and MD who have a geo background. It constitutes a significant part of our business, supporting other disciplines.
Your role:
Deliver geo-environmental and geotechnical services, including site investigations (supervision, logging, sampling), report writing, and risk assessments. Collaborate within integrated project teams of geo-environmental and geotechnical specialists, understanding related disciplines such as civils, structural engineering, transport, air quality, acoustics, and flood risk.
Qualifications and Attributes:
* BSc, BEng, or higher in geology, civil engineering, environmental science, or related fields.
* 1-2 years of experience in a geo-environmental consultancy role.
* Experience with contractors or geotechnical work is desirable.
* Knowledge of British Standards (e.g., BS EN 5930), industry guidance, and NHBC standards.
* Experience supervising, reporting, and managing geo-environmental projects.
* Monitoring gases and groundwater, groundwater sampling.
* Client and subcontractor liaison.
* Technical report writing skills.
* Understanding health and safety in ground investigations.
* Self-motivated team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
* Proactive, independent, enthusiastic.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Full UK Driving Licence.
