An exciting opportunity has arisen for a number Advice Line Advisors to join the Household Support and Advice service.
Contributing to the council's prevention and early intervention approaches to addressing poverty and homelessness, you will be part of a wider service area seeking to develop, deliver, and improve integrated services to individuals and households. Being part of a front-door, access Team, you will often be the first point of contact a citizen has with Household Support and Advice provision. You will be responsible for providing initial advice and guidance on benefits, debt and welfare rights, and assessing if more specialist intervention is required.
You will be a multi-tasker, have good organisational skill, and someone who can communicate with a broad range of individuals and groups, verbally and in writing.
Some knowledge of the UK and Scottish benefit systems, debt and welfare rights advice, homelessness and housing would be an advantage. A passion for helping people, an attitude of care and compassion and wanting the best for those who are vulnerable, along with good verbal and written communication, is essential.
