Job Overview
Two Personal Assistants (PAs) are required to support a fun-loving 11‑year‑old boy with autism who lives in the HU5 area of Hull. The role involves caring for the child, assisting with daily activities, and following instructions from his mother.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide assistance during term time (6 hrs per week) and school holidays (12 hrs per week).
* Assist the child in going to the toilet regularly to prevent accidents.
* Encourage outdoor activities such as park visits, swimming, bus rides and walks when the child feels overwhelmed.
* Offer emotional support, including hugs, when the child is stressed or upset.
* Follow all instructions given by the child's mother.
Requirements & Qualifications
* Experience or training in supporting young people with autism is desirable.
* Ability to communicate with a non‑verbal child using simple instructions and to interpret vocal stimming sounds.
* Patience and understanding of the child’s needs.
* Access to personal transport and willingness to drive to the child's home.
* Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
Salary and Working Hours
Rate of pay: £12.71 per hour. Hours: 6 hours per week during term time, 12 hours per week during school holidays; days to be negotiated.
