Jill Fitzpatrick - Neuroaffirming Person-Centred Arts Therapist

I am a person-centred, neuroaffirming arts therapist based in Liverpool, drawing on creativity to support people in exploring their inner world and moving toward healing. My background includes 15 years in education, where I worked closely with neurodivergent children, shaping my belief that behaviour is communication and that difference should be celebrated rather than pathologised.

This experience, alongside my own neurodivergent identity and family life, grounds my practice in deep respect, curiosity, and flexibility. I work with clients experiencing a wide range of challenges. This includes, but is not limited to, trauma, anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, family and relationship difficulties, confidence, life transitions, and neurodivergence.

My approach is trauma-informed and guided by humanistic values, holding space for clients to feel safe, accepted, and truly seen. I believe creativity is a powerful tool in therapy: it allows expression when words feel difficult, gives shape to overwhelming emotions, and supports clients to notice patterns, make sense of experiences, and move toward greater freedom and self-trust. Therapy with me can take many forms: one-to-one in my therapy room, walk-and-talk sessions in Liverpool’s green spaces, or via doxy.me online, blending conversation with creative expression. However we work, my intention is always to create a safe, inclusive, and non-judgemental space that adapts to each client’s needs, whether through movement, silence, art, or simply a cuppa and a listening ear.

As part of Thriving Autistic, I am committed to neuroaffirming practice, honouring the richness and diversity of neurodivergent experience without gatekeeping or presumption. I also hold membership with UKAHPP, aligned with UKCP, grounding my work in humanistic values of authenticity, autonomy, and respect for each individual’s capacity to heal and grow. Research continues to highlight the effectiveness of person-centred approaches in supporting mental health, and I believe therapy should be accessible, flexible, and rooted in genuine human connection. Healing, for me, happens through relationship: through empathy, acceptance, and the space to show up as you are.

I offer a free 30-minute consultation to explore whether working together feels right, with standard sessions at £50 and extended walk-and-talk sessions at £75. My therapy space is at The Chesters Centre for Wellbeing in South Liverpool, with access to beautiful local parks for those who find nature a supportive backdrop. Whatever shape our sessions take, your pace, your voice, and your safety will always be at the centre.
