Job Title: EC&I Designer
Location: Birchwood, Cheshire
Working Pattern: Hybrid (37.5 hours per week)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Reports To: Senior EC&I Engineer

Our client is an established Engineering Design Consultancy and EPC Construction Contractor, delivering complex, high-quality projects across the nuclear sector. They provide multi-discipline engineering solutions to clients across the UK, with a strong focus on safety, compliance, and innovation.
Role Overview
As an EC&I Designer, you will be responsible for producing high-quality EC&I design deliverables within single or multi-discipline engineering EPC projects. Working closely with the Senior EC&I Engineer, you will ensure all designs are completed in line with project scope, schedules, budgets, and industry standards.
This hybrid role offers flexibility between home and office working and is based on a 37.5-hour working week.
Key Responsibilities
Produce EC&I design drawings and deliverables for EPC projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
Collaborate with the Senior EC&I Engineer to deliver drawings on time, within budget, and aligned with other engineering disciplines including Mechanical, Civil, Structural, Process, and Automation.
Participate in internal and external design reviews and implement feedback to maintain design integrity and quality.
Interpret project deliverable lists and translate requirements into actionable design outputs.
Consistently produce accurate and high-quality EC&I drawings, meeting project and client expectations.
Support project documentation control and revision management processes.
Qualifications & Experience
Up to 3 years of experience as an EC&I Designer within an Engineering, EPCM, or EPC environment.
Solid understanding of EC&I design principles and deliverables.
Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification (minimum).
Proficient in AutoCAD, with experience using Plant 3D or Revit (preferred).
Capable of producing a range of drawings, including (but not limited to):
Block Cable Diagrams
Single Line Diagrams
Loop Diagrams
Layout Diagrams
Instrument Hook-up Diagrams
Cable Routing Drawings
Results-oriented with a commitment to producing designs that meet client approval.
Security Clearance: Candidates must hold or be eligible to obtain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance. The ability to achieve Security Check (SC) clearance is essential.
