Depot Operations Supervisor
Location: Manchester
Salary: Competitive with excellent benefits
Hours: Monday to Friday, 04:00 – 13:00 (plus flexibility to work alternate Saturday mornings)

We’re looking for an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead and support daily delivery activities at the company’s Manchester site. You’ll play a crucial role in ensuring customer orders are delivered on time, every time – while overseeing a small team and ensuring everything runs smoothly and in line with compliance standards.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced role that offers real responsibility from day one. You’ll be on the ground with your team, making things happen and helping to drive continued success.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the loading and timely dispatch of vehicles to meet delivery deadlines
* Monitor and maintain high standards of delivery performance and customer service
* Optimise delivery routes and communicate changes to drivers clearly and efficiently
* Handle incident reporting and ensure all required documentation is completed
* Act as the primary point of contact for drivers – offering day-to-day leadership and support
* Manage fuel receipts and vehicle-related admin
* Carry out roadworthiness checks and escalate vehicle off-road (VOR) issues as needed
* Coordinate couriers and collections when necessary
* Look for opportunities to improve delivery processes and reduce costs
* Ensure drivers complete daily vehicle checklists and stay compliant with EU regulations and the Working Time Directive
What We’re Looking For:
* Proven experience in a supervisory or management role within a fast-paced transport/distribution environment
* A natural leader – someone who can motivate, support, and lead by example
* Strong communication and decision-making skills
* Excellent planning and organisational abilities, with a keen eye for detail
* Confident using IT systems to manage day-to-day operations
* A current forklift licence (essential)
