Job Description
Category Manager – Beauty Boots Ignite
Contract: 12 Months Secondment
Recruitment Partner: Anastasia Walker
The market has shifted dramatically in recent years – fuelled by social media and the pace of change in categories such as Beauty and Wellness – there are more trends, more brands and more products than ever before. Boots Ignite was introduced in response to this - and the growing demand for new and trending content at Boots. With 'new' being the key driver of store choice for customers in the UK, launching a strong pipeline of new and trending brands in Boots is critical to the growth we need to achieve.
We have big ambitions to shape the future of the industry through the Boots Ignite programme and become the market leader for trending content in store, online and on our owned channels, radically improving our ability to launch new trends and brands into the market. Boots will become the trending Beauty and Wellness destination to test, play and experience the most innovative products in the market.
It's the biggest change to how we have launched new brands in recent years and this role is pivotal in evolving and managing that process and pipeline to maintain and accelerate its success.
About the role
Your role will be integral in making this step change happen. You will need to be comfortable with working at pace; utilising consumer, commercial, category and trend insights and data to spot emerging opportunities, building excellent relationships both internally and externally as well as across functions. You'll be able to demonstrate great team management skills, and work with agility to deliver the best opportunities for Boots. You'll be integral in continuing to develop the commercial strategy across this growing function and completing the best possible delivery against this stretching ambition. You will be comfortable with challenging the status quo, bringing new thinking and perspectives, and driving through the delivery of the brands.
Relationship building will be essential as you'll work with the brands and be their key point of contact cross functionally to build launch and growth plans. This will include setting up the processes for, and working with GTM and marketing to ensure we have great customer plans to drive fame and success for these brands in a highly competitive market.
You'll also need creativity to spot emerging trend led categories, products and brands – helping the business to not only identify these but understand when the right time to respond to these trends is – and the commercial opportunity they hold.
Reporting to the Global Head of Foresight, Trends and Ignite, the Ignite Beauty Category Manager will be an incredibly important member of the rapidly growing Ignite team. You'll be ready to roll your sleeves up and get ready to build new processes, teams and ways of working to help us step change our process for launching trend led brands into the business – both in store and online, ensuring our plans are commercially led and viable.
