Hours: 37 hours per week (flexible, including potential evenings/weekends)
Salary: PAYE: £14.36 per hour | Umbrella: £18.10 per hour
What You’ll Do
* Provide advice, guidance, and practical support to Category 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 young people under the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and Social Services and Well Being (Wales) Act 2014.
* Assist with budgeting, purchasing items for independent living, and completing My Pathway Planner documents.
* Support social workers in preparing and reviewing Pathway Plans, attending reviews, and promoting young people’s wishes and feelings.
* Co-work with Category 1 and 2 young people and take case responsibility for Category 3, 4, 5, and 6 care leavers.
* Maintain accurate case records, coordinate services, and respond flexibly to crisis situations.
* Work collaboratively with internal teams and external agencies, such as housing, health, and education.
What We’re Looking For
* Knowledge of the Children (Leaving Care) Act 2000 and experience working with young people and families.
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with young people and professionals.
* Ability to manage casework, maintain accurate records, and work to tight deadlines.
* NVQ Level 2 in Child Care (or equivalent) is essential; NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Social Care is desirable.
* A full UK Category B driving licence with business-use insurance and the ability to travel across the borough.
* Flexibility to work occasional evenings/weekends as needed.
* Candidates must reside within a reasonable travelling distance to Tredomen House, Hengoed.
Essential Requirements
* Eligibility to work in the UK.
* Enhanced DBS check and Criminal Convictions Declaration.
* Full UK driving licence and car insurance (business use).
* Signed Confidentiality Agreement.
* 5 years of references/work history.
* Proof of qualifications (NVQ Level 2 in Child Care or equivalent; NVQ Level 3/4 desirable).
