Pay:Actual salary £24,000 – £27,220 per annum
About the School:
This is a small special school supporting young people aged 8-16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH). The school prides itself on encouraging pupils to strive to achieve the best possible outcomes.
The Role:
We are seeking a skilled Forest School Instructor/Tutor to join the team on a permanent basis from September 2025. This part-time role (32.5 hours per week) involves planning, preparing, and delivering Forest School sessions, including accompanying trips and excursions, some of which may occur on weekends or overnight.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver a range of Forest School sessions and activities
* Maintain and monitor Forest School equipment and education stores
* Keep accurate records of equipment usage and repairs
* Prepare lesson plans and required equipment in advance
* Use behaviour management strategies to foster a positive learning environment
* Promote outdoor learning and the ethos of Forest Schools
Requirements:
* Experience in planning, preparing, and delivering Forest School sessions or similar outdoor learning programs
* Ability to assess pupil needs and adapt activities accordingly
* Knowledge of The National Curriculum and relevant Schemes of Work
* Experience writing risk assessments
* Passion for working outdoors in all weather conditions while ensuring children’s safety

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
