Therapeutic Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant Location: Hove Salary: £24,603 per year (£12.21/hour) pro rata annual pay review Hours: 38.75 hours per week, term-time only About the Role We are looking for a dedicated Therapeutic Support Assistant/Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision based in Hove supporting students in a therapeutic and educational environment, with social, emotional, and learning needs. As a Therapeutic Support Assistant, you will be a key member of both the Therapeutic Support Team and the frontline care and support team. Working under the guidance of special needs class teachers and the Therapeutic Support Team Manager, you will help create the conditions necessary for each child to engage in learning and thrive. Key Responsibilities: Support the delivery of lessons in collaboration with teachers. Build understanding of each childs individual needs and adapt learning environments accordingly. Address barriers to learning and promote engagement in both academic and personal development. Contribute to creating a safe, supportive, and therapeutic school environment. Contract & Hours: 38.75 hours per week across five days (term-time only) Standard hours: 8:30am4:15pm Occasional extended hours (to 5:00pm) for whole-school meetings, by agreement What Were Looking For: A compassionate and resilient individual who can work with children with complex needs Some experience of working in a school or/and similar learning setting or/and a residential childrens home. Some knowledge of an SEMH school or related learning environment or approach.
