We are looking for a professional, enthusiastic individual to join the Mortuary leadership team.
Working in close collaboration with the Mortuary Manager you will be able to inspire our Mortuary team, across our three sites, in our mission to provide quality and dignified care for the deceased in CTM.
You will be:
1. qualified to RSPH level 4 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology (or equivalent)
2. able to provide training in Post Mortem evisceration to trainee APT's
3. able to easily adopt a methodical approach to work at all times and be able to prioritise your workload effectively
4. possess a high level of resilience and emotional stability
5. able to deal with distressing situations in a professional, dignified and respectful manner
6. drive change and able to contribute to service improvements
7. be able to provide inspirational leadership to the Mortuary team
8. able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the team and service users at all levels
9. able to travel independently between our mortuary sites and body stores within the Health board as the service requires
Main duties of the job
To assist the mortuary and bereavement manager in the operational management of a professional Mortuary service for Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, liaising with all members of the multi-disciplinary team involved in the care of the deceased and with service users.
To assist the mortuary management team in the development and maintenance of the quality management system documentation for the provision of the mortuary service to UKAS and HTA standards.
To will ensure dignified, sympathetic and empathetic mortuary service in line with the laws and codes of practice relating to the mortuary and ensure that all staff adhere to them.
Duties will be undertaken across multiple UHB sites; mortuaries at the Royal Glamorgan Hospital Llantrisant, Prince Charles Hospital Merthyr Tydfil, body stores at Community Hospital sites and the mortuary at Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. The ability to travel independently between these sights to deal with any issues that may arise is essential for this role.
To provide training for new members of the mortuary team and trainee anatomical pathology technicians, and act as a role model and mentor for the professional delivery of the services, promoting excellence throughout practice
