CNC Machinist Location: West Midlands Job Type: Full Time, Permanent Major Recruitment are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join our clients precision engineering companyto operative an advanced 5-axis machining cell. This is an excellent opportunity to work with high-end equipment, complex components, and cutting-edge automation in a stable, well-invested engineering environment. The 5-axis cell includes Hurco 5-Axis machining centres and a ROEDER 5-Axis machine integrated with an RCE1 robotic pallet system, offering a varied and technically engaging workload. This role would suit a highly skilled machinist who enjoys responsibility, precision work, and contributing to high-quality manufacturing. Key Responsibilities Operate 5-axis Hurco machining centres Operate a ROEDER 5-axis machine using setting sheets and established processes. Produce high-precision components to tight tolerances. Read and interpret complex engineering drawings and specifications. Complete one-off and small-to-medium batch work. Inspect and verify components using a range of precision measuring equipment. Maintain quality standards and ensure work meets aerospace compliance requirements. Work efficiently to meet production schedules while maintaining exceptional accuracy. Skills & Experience Required CNC machining experience (aerospace experience highly desirable). Proven experience operating Hurco milling machines. Strong understanding of 5-axis machining principles. Ability to work accurately to sub 0.05mm tolerances. Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings. Able to work independently with minimal supervision. Desirable (But Not Essential) Experience machining graphite or advanced materials. Familiarity with automated pallet or robotic systems.
