Streamlining current processes, the role holder will be responsible for ensuring SpliceGroup Europe Ltd., sources the technical products and services it needs to operate effectively and within budget whilst complying with sustainable and ethical regulations and business objectives.
This is a hybrid role, based with at our Head Office in West Yorkshire 3 days per week.
The role is UK based however international travel will be required.
As Technical Procurement Manager, reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee the procurement and supply chain of technical products and services, ensuring efficient product sourcing, contract negotiation and supplier management. Building a supply chain that is agile, resilient and equipped to meet the company's growth targets and global market demands, you will also ensure the company adheres to quality standards, compliance and budgetary constraints.
Responsibilities
Sourcing and Supplier Management:
· Identify and evaluate potential suppliers based on technical specifications, quality, and cost.
· Manage end to end tender processes and evaluate bids, making recommendations based on commercial and technical requirements
· Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favourable terms and prices.
· Conduct and maintain Know Your Client reviews on suppliers, ensuring a full onboarding process is completed
· Evaluate supplier performance and proactively address issues, maintaining an approved directory of key suppliers and blacklisting those who do not meet company standards and requirements.
· Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable supply chains.
Procurement Process Management:
· Develop and implement procurement strategies
· Liaise with the Warehouse and Logistics Manager to enhance the product delivery process including ordering, delivery, and payment.
· Utilise supply chain road mapping to ensure compliance with regulations and sustainability standards, paying specific attention to the UK's Modern Slavery Act to ensure compliance across the business.
Budget and Cost Management:
· Oversee procurement budgets and ensure spending aligns with financial targets.
· Enhance efficiencies and cost-effectiveness across the supply chain, procurement and manufacturing operations.
· Track key metrics and KPIs to monitor procurement performance, as determined by the Senior Management Team.
Stakeholder Management:
· Communicate with suppliers and vendors to ensure clear expectations and timely delivery.
· Regularly report on procurement activities, tender outcomes and performance to the Senior Management Team
Experience / personal attributes:
· Demonstrable experience of procurement frameworks, supply chain management and contract negotiation
· Knowledge and experience of the fibre optic market
· Knowledge and experience of working within HMRC commodity code requirements
· Experience of working internationally with a willingness to travel and work across time zones.
· Able to prioritise workloads, managing multiple projects at once and multi-tasking when necessary to ensure deadlines are met.
