Shift Leader Front of House - Broadmead, Bristol
Reports To: General Store Manager
Position Summary: You are responsible for ensuring service standards, excellent guest service, and maintaining the cleanliness of the Front of House. You will drive sales and profit through upselling and guest care, foster a positive working environment, and ensure operational excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage the Front of House area, ensuring service quality and customer satisfaction
* Respond to guest complaints and resolve issues promptly
* Ensure product quality and safety standards
* Organize and supervise team responsibilities, including training and performance appraisals
* Maintain stock inventory and analyze consumption
* Ensure compliance with food safety and health & safety regulations
* Promote the GDK brand and lead by example to nurture a positive work environment
* Monitor operations and implement corrective actions when necessary
* Serve as duty manager on a rotation basis
* Lead pre- and post-shift team briefings
* Oversee business performance of Front of House, ensuring adherence to guidelines
* Address root causes of guest complaints and resolve issues
* Ensure staff compliance with uniform standards
* Greet guests, manage reservations, and supervise shift staffing
* Maintain high standards of hygiene, safety, and quality control
* Handle cash and petty cash operations
* Support team members as needed and promote teamwork
* Complete daily reports and attend training sessions
* Perform other duties as required by the Operations Manager
* Coordinate with the General Store Manager on all Front of House aspects
* Maintain neatness in storage and Front of House areas
* Work with the team to control stock and meet budget margins
* Fill out daily paperwork and support guest care initiatives
* Promote high standards of guest service and team grooming
* Ensure legal and safety responsibilities are followed
* Maintain equipment and oversee preventive maintenance

* Guests and delivery drivers
* GDK personnel
Qualifications:
A qualified candidate should have excellent communication skills, enthusiasm, and team spirit. Essential qualities include:
* Experience as Supervisor/Duty Manager in the food industry
* Guest service management experience
* Knowledge of guest care principles
* Proficiency in English
* Computer literacy and POS system familiarity
* Strong leadership and motivational skills
