About the job you're considering

The Applied Innovation Exchange is seeking an individual who possesses infinite curiosity to work with our UK team in our innovation exchange in the heart of London. You'll be part of a small team of makers, breakers, doers, and disruptors, who love to solve real problems and meet real customer needs.

You will thrive in obscurity and empowered environments, taking ownership of challenges and working in collaboration with our clients and team to turn problem statement into innovative, impactful concepts.

You will be passionate about your craft and how innovation is underpinned by high-quality research, service and product design. Getting excited solving design, business and technology challenges through design and by working hand in hand with customers to deliver unique experiences.

You will have a passion for innovation and emerging technology and embrace working with new ideas and methods. You will be comfortable working in an ambitious, start-up style culture where you will play a part in our future strategy and growth and set the direction for our design strategy.

You will work alongside clients, account execs, innovation strategists, engineers and product managers to ideate, experiment, and build rapid proof of values and innovations for a range of clients leveraging the latest emerging technology.

Your primary role will be to work with our team, clients and partners to create new products, services and systems to drive meaningful change. As a user-centre design advocate, you will deliver value for our clients and have a strong portfolio and track record to demonstrate this. Not only do you understand the value of design, but you are also able to communicate this in engaging ways to clients and internal stakeholders.

Hybrid working

The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your role

* Work alongside senior designers to deliver impact for our clients through design
* Support the delivery of new products, services, capabilities and systems from a design standpoint at pace, from "problem to pilot"
* Work within multi-disciplinary teams to design, prototype and build cutting-edge solutions and future concepts
* Share your work directly with clients in ways that generate curiosity and a desire to apply innovation
* Deliver quality design work, from performing research to high quality and well refined UX/UI, using collaboration tools like Figma and inspire clients towards design standards and systems
* Support the facilitation of workshops, brainstorming sessions, experiments & design sprints with internal design team members or with clients to define design direction
* Conduct user research and interviews, create user journeys and personas to uncover customer insights

Your skills and experience

* Experience in a similar design-led role
* Excellent presentation skills with the ability to really engage with and understand stakeholders
* Ideally some experience of taking a product to market by working closely with developers and client stakeholders, at pace
* A bias for action, creating proof points to drive tangible experiments, prototypes or solutions
* Passion for UX design and eagerness and ability to share expertise and bounce ideas with other creative people
* Solid grasp of the design process from research and human-centred design practices through to creating high-fidelity UX/UI and prototypes in modern design tools
* Experience in inclusive design is a plus, ideally an awareness/understanding of emerging technologies such as AI, IoT, Mixed Reality
* Experience with but not reliance on GenAI tools to support your design process - we are looking for someone with critical thinking skills who leverages tooling to support their skillset, not lead them

Your security clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role you will need to undergo Baseline Personnel Security Standard checks. There are no nationality or residency restrictions, although if you have resided outside of the UK within the last 3 years, further checks may be required. There are other criteria and checks required for BPSS, and throughout the recruitment process, you will be asked questions about your security clearance eligibility such as, but not limited to, country of residence and nationality.

We are a Disability Confident Employer

Capgemini is proud to be a Disability Confident Employer (Level 2) under the UK Government's Disability Confident scheme. As part of our commitment to inclusive recruitment, we will offer an interview to all candidates who declare they have a disability, and meet the minimum essential criteria for the role. Please opt in during the application process.
