As a Financial Diligence expert, you’ll help make informed decisions in high-profile transactions and work with a diversely talented, highly experienced team. Our core work is due diligence, assessing a target company’s finances and business projections, identifying opportunities, risks, sensitivities and potential mitigations, and reporting and advising on these to our clients, their banks, investors and other parties.
Responsibilities
As a Director within the Financial Diligence team, you will lead engagements analyzing the financial and operational results of companies targeted for sale. You will manage project teams and work closely with all members, forming strong internal links within Financial Diligence and other EY departments. You will understand key business drivers, co-develop our approach with the client, agree value measurements, provide value through insights, factual conclusions and advice, and plan, prepare and review deliverables in various formats including written reports, presentations and client discussions. You will:
* Plan and monitor the progress of the team
* Share technical and other knowledge with your team and the department
* Build internal and external networks through personal contacts
* Understand the firm’s capabilities and identify opportunities to sell additional services
* Contribute to business plan initiatives (e.g., key accounts, recruitment, client service framework)
* Act as a true business advisor to the client and establish yourself as a key client contact
You will take the lead on business development initiatives, maintain key client account responsibilities, and drive new account relationships through your network. You will also own your learning and development, provide coaching to others, participate in upward feedback, and help create a positive learning culture for junior team members.
Skills and Attributes for Success
* Be able to gather, verify and analyse information to formulate views/conclusions
* Experience in planning, preparing and reviewing deliverables (written reports, presentations, client discussions)
* Support culture for junior team members and their development
To qualify for the role you must have
* A minimum of 8 years financial due diligence experience
* A Chartered Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
* Ability to analyse financial and non-financial information to formulate views and conclusions
* Strong analytical, presentation, project management and report writing skills
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Be a team player with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels
* A passion to provide high quality service to clients
Ideally you’ll also have
* Demonstrable client account management abilities
* Have counselling skills, though not essential
