We are recruiting a Lead Engineer to join the engineering team on a prestigious aviation contract at Stansted. This is a high-responsibility, permanent position ideal for an experienced engineer looking to step up into a leadership role within a dynamic, fast-paced, and high-visibility airport environment.
🔧 What You'll Be Doing:
✔️ Team Leadership: Lead and manage a team of multi-skilled engineers, ensuring effective coordination and smooth operation across all engineering disciplines.
✔️ Strategic Maintenance Planning: Oversee and schedule planned preventative and reactive maintenance for critical systems, ensuring the airport's operations run without interruption.
✔️ Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Take ownership of complex breakdowns and lead technical problem-solving efforts to ensure minimal downtime.
✔️ Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations while working in a high-traffic, high-stakes environment.
✔️ Operational Efficiency: Monitor the performance of engineering systems, proactively identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and enhanced performance.
✔️ Stakeholder Liaison: Serve as a point of contact between the engineering team, management, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless operations.
✔️ Training & Development: Mentor and develop junior engineers, providing ongoing training and support to enhance team capability and performance.
✔️ Reporting & Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, incident reports, and compliance audits, ensuring full documentation for regulatory bodies.
👷 What We're Looking For:
* Qualified Engineer (electrical or mechanical bias) with substantial experience in facilities or building maintenance, ideally in an aviation or critical environment.
* Proven leadership experience, with the ability to manage, inspire, and develop a team of engineers.
* Strong background in maintaining complex electrical, mechanical, and HVAC systems in a fast-paced, high-demand environment.
* Solid understanding of health, safety, and compliance standards in critical environments (experience in aviation or similar environments is a plus).
* Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot under pressure.
* Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels.
💼 What's on Offer:
💷 £46,000 per annum salary (depending on experience)
🕓 4 on / 4 off shift pattern (2 days, 2 nights)
