NPI Engineer
Location: Bournemouth Area
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 + Benefits
Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in the Bournemouth area, is seeking an NPI Engineer to join their engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with experience in New Product Introduction to play a key role in bringing new products from concept through to full-scale production.
Working closely with design, manufacturing, quality, and production teams, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth introduction of new products, processes, and technologies into the manufacturing environment while maintaining quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and support New Product Introduction activities from development through to production launch.
* Act as the key link between design, engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams throughout the product lifecycle.
* Develop and implement manufacturing processes for new products.
* Create and maintain production documentation, including work instructions, process flows, and manufacturing specifications.
* Coordinate prototype builds, trials, and validation activities.
* Identify and resolve manufacturing issues during product introduction phases.
* Support process improvement initiatives to optimise quality, efficiency, and production readiness.
* Work with suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure successful product launches.
* Assist with risk assessments, process validation, and continuous improvement activities.
Candidate Requirements
* Previous experience in an NPI Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer, Project Engineer, Production Engineer, or similar role.
* Experience supporting product introduction within a manufacturing environment.
* Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles.
* Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
* Knowledge of process validation, risk assessment, and continuous improvement methodologies.
* Strong project management and organisational skills.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple departments and stakeholders.
* HNC/HND or Degree qualification in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related discipline would be advantageous.
Package
* Salary of £40,000 - £45,000
* 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays
* 4.5-day working week (37 hours)
