Advanced Clinical Practitioner Acute Medicine
An exciting career opportunity has arisen in Acute Medicine within the Emergency Division at South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust for a qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Band 8a).
The role provides specialist assessment and management of patients across our Acute Medical Unit, Medical Short-Stay Unit, Ambulatory Emergency Care (SDEC) and the Emergency Department under the supervision of a dynamic and supportive consultant body. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop new clinical experience, skills and knowledge across the entire spectrum of acute medical presentations.
Requirements
* Fully qualified ACP with an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice.
* Friendly, compassionate and sensitive manner with a genuine desire to help people. Ability to demonstrate patience and empathy with a good range of clinical skills to inspire confidence and trust in patients.
Responsibilities
* Exercise advanced clinical skills, levels of judgement, discretion and decision-making in clinical care, supported by professional portfolio evidence.
* Collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team and allied specialties to ensure efficient, high-quality clinical care at Warwick Hospital.
* Provide care across Ambulatory Emergency Care (AEC), ward rounds on the Acute Medical Unit (AMU), Medical Short Stay Unit (MSSU) and work with the medical on-call team in the Emergency Department (ED).
* Regular evening, weekend and bank holiday working; during winter and high-demand periods, expedite discharge and facilitate criteria-led discharge where appropriate.
* Dedicate 20% of contracted hours to the three non-clinical pillars of Advanced Clinical Practice: leadership, education and research.
* Contribute to clinical governance, audit, research, training and education; provide leadership to the clinical team in one or more of these areas.
* Support new processes to improve patient flow and rapid streaming of medical referrals, including 7 day working.
