Tradewind Recruitment is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Primary Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Harborne on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work 1:1 with a Key Stage 1 student with specific learning needs, providing tailored academic and social support to help them access the curriculum and reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the class teacher and SENCo to understand and support the student's individual needs.
* Provide personalized support in academic and social settings, fostering an inclusive environment.
* Assist with tasks such as reading, writing, and numeracy activities.
* Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the child's needs.
* Encourage independence and participation in class activities.
* Monitor progress, record observations, and communicate regularly with staff.
* Contribute to the child's IEP and EHCP development.
Requirements:
* Experience supporting children with special needs in a primary setting.
* Compassion, patience, and a genuine passion for helping young learners.
* Excellent communication skills to build relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
* Knowledge of special educational needs and effective support strategies.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet individual needs.
