I’m working with a leading energy and infrastructure business that is delivering one of the most significant capital investment programmes currently underway in the UK. The legal team plays a central role in shaping how large-scale construction and engineering work is procured, managed and delivered across the project.
They are looking to appoint a Managing Counsel to provide senior legal support across complex construction packages, working closely with commercial, engineering and project leadership teams. It’s a hands-on role with genuine influence, suited to someone who enjoys being embedded in delivery rather than advising from a distance.
The role will suit someone who:
* Has strong construction experience, ideally including NEC or other major project contracting frameworks
* Is comfortable operating in a fast-moving, multi-stakeholder environment
* Can balance legal risk with practical, commercially focused judgment
* Enjoys working collaboratively alongside commercial, engineering and programme colleagues
* Is motivated by technically challenging work with real-world impact
What the role offers:
* A senior position within a highly respected in-house legal team
* The chance to shape strategy across complex infrastructure and energy programmes
* Broad exposure across procurement, contract management and project delivery
* A collaborative, mission-driven environment where legal is seen as an enabler
* Clear progression within an expanding legal function
This is a rare opportunity for candidates with top-tier construction experience in private practice or industry who want to step into a senior leadership role on a nationally significant programme.
If you’d like to discuss the role in more detail, feel free to get in touch.
