Scope of Role Avondale Foods is a leading food processing company of Fresh and Chilled products. The purpose of this role is to organise the storage and distribution of goods ensuring that the right products are delivered to the right location on time and at a good cost. To lead by example and ensure that you and your team are adhering to company policies and procedures in relation to Product Quality, Food Safety and Integrity. Key Responsibilities To manage stock levels order assembly to customer requirements and outload to achieve on time and in full delivery (OTIF) targets To allocate and manage staff and labour control according to changing needs To liaise and negotiate with internal and external customers and suppliers To continually try to improve and develop department performance against KPI targets To drive Health and Safety, Waste Control, Lean Management To manage staff: coaching and training, absence, performance reviews To motivate members of the team To manage and deal with the day to day operation such as: picking products, recording despatch times, temperature, dates, quality of products, transport vehicles loading requirements and procedures, accuracy ofdocumentations, labels, and dockets, staff rota, recording waste, etc. Liaise with haulers to manage outload times to reduce congestion and achieve OTIF targets Completing the closure of any issues / non-conformances raised in internal audits in a timely and efficient way. Person Specification Essential Previous experience in a similar role 2 years practical knowledge of storage and distribution within a fresh-food manufacturing environment Level 2 certificate in Food Safety and Health & Safety Experience using computers and Microsoft Packages Basic level of English, both written and verbal Desirable Certificate Level or qualification in Logistics/Transport/Distribution e.g. CILT Level 2 Level 3 certificate in Food Safety and Health & Safety Previous experience with HACCP Full driving license, enabling you to drive on site company vehicles Skills: fresh food manufacturing storage and distribution
