Job overview
The post holder will be a central point of contact for volunteers and will support the Operations Manager and Operations Assistants, providing logistics support to facilitate day to day operations relating to the portfolio. This role will contribute to building resilient communities as a consequence of involving public and community agencies in the provision of appropriate and safe services.
Communicating effectively with WAST Volunteers, staff representatives and managers and Volunteer Management team on a regular basis, both individually and at team meetings, establishing and maintaining good and productive two-way service relations. Monitor standards of performance and recommend measures to improve compliance and address any deficits identified of the volunteers.
Main duties of the job
* To be the central point of contact for all WAST volunteers and partner schemes.
* To provide logistical and welfare support to facilitate day to day volunteer operations.
* To contribute to service improvement, monitoring, and governance Responsibilities.

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Educated to NVQ Level 4/diploma in a professionally related subject or equivalent demonstratable relevant experience.
* ILM Level 2 or able to demonstrate significant equivalent experience in managing staff or volunteers
* Up to date in own Statutory and Mandatory training and evidence of Continued Professional Development.
* Advanced and developed knowledge of volunteering.
Desirable criteria
* Knowledge of Ambulance Service
* Knowledge of NHS Statutory and Mandatory training requirements
* Awareness of Statutory and Mandatory legislation and guidance
* Hold a recognised assessment qualification such as CAVA or demonstrate equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of supporting or managing volunteers or employees within a large NHS or voluntary organisation.
* Experience of managing difficult situations and dealing with people in sensitive, distressing, traumatic, circumstances
Skills and Attributes
Essential criteria
* ICT / E-Learning facilitation skills to include use of Word, Power point, Excel and database use. Standard keyboard skills required.
* Ability to generate verbal and written communication, which is relevant, concise, accurate and legible at all times.
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Able to engage effectively with staff and stakeholders in complex and sensitive environments.
* Presentation skills including the ability to deliver training packages to multidisciplinary groups.
