About the Role
The Supply Register is seeking passionate and skilled English Teachers to work on a supply basis across secondary schools in the Rochdale area. We proudly partner with a number of reputable Multi-Academy Trusts, providing consistent opportunities for high-quality teachers looking for day-to-day, short-term, and long-term placements.
This role is ideal for someone who is enthusiastic about English Literature and Language, confident in classroom management, and committed to helping students develop strong communication and critical-thinking skills.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available depending on the school)
Plan, prepare and deliver lessons in line with curriculum requirements
Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
Manage classroom behaviour effectively
Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
Work collaboratively with school staff and follow school policies
Adapt teaching strategies to suit varied learning needs
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
Experience teaching English in a UK secondary school
Strong subject knowledge in English Literature & Language
Excellent communication and classroom-management skills
An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
Flexibility, reliability, and a proactive approach to teaching
