As a Data Integration Technical Lead at the FA, you will be responsible for leading the data integration engineers within your Pod (Team/Value stream). You will be key in ensuring your Pod builds the right thing in the right way. This is a technical leadership and developer role responsible for the end-to-end development of a suite of FA applications. Working primarily within a Microsoft-based technology stack, the role serves as the central point for all integration development activities. Key responsibilities include development, establishing coding standards, implementing quality assurance processes, and overseeing the work of developers. The ideal candidate will wear multiple hats—acting as an architect, delivery manager, data integration engineer, quality assurance, mentor, problem solver, and collaborative team member—ensuring both technical excellence and alignment with business goals.

The role is a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract based at Wembley Stadium.

5. Lead and develop a high-performing, cross-functional team through mentoring and coaching.
6. Establish and uphold team norms and engineering standards, fostering accountability and excellence.
7. Participate in technical discussions and architecture decisions to guide quality and scalability.
8. Support agile practices and continuous improvement.
9. Enable DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline management and Kubernetes deployments.
10. Promote a data-driven culture by defining and tracking key metrics.
11. Drive innovation, experimentation, and process improvements.
12. Align with stakeholders on priorities and maintain a clear technical roadmap.
13. Monitor codebase changes to ensure quality and compliance with standards.
14. Optimize developer experience and productivity.
15. Proactively monitor production services for issues.
16. Provide meaningful challenges and feedback to engineers for their development.
17. Assess team skills and identify training needs.
18. Assist Product Owners with requirements breakdown and estimations.
19. Communicate progress and impacts clearly to the Delivery Manager.
20. Integrate quality into the development lifecycle, including testing practices.
21. Encourage adherence to agile methodologies and practices like TDD, BDD, and paired programming.
22. Support efficient user story workflows and impediment removal.
23. Stay updated with latest technologies and engage with developer communities.
24. Perform additional tasks as needed to meet organizational priorities.

Currently, the role supports a hybrid working model with part-time onsite work at Wembley Stadium and remote work options. The location details are available on the FA Careers page.
