Therapy Team Lead

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, dynamic and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist with experience of leadership to provide support and clinical expertise to community rehab therapy services within Redcar & Cleveland locality.
The role is as the therapy lead for a team of OT, Physio and therapy assistants working in rehab roles as well as providing professional support for therapist working within residential rehab and reablement teams within the council.
The clinical element of the role involves triaging and a clinical caseload of complex patients as well as being a specialist resource supporting staff with their complex rehab cases.
South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest teaching hospital trusts in the country, close to the North Yorkshire Moors and within easy reach of Newcastle and Leeds. It comprises two acute hospitals, James Cook University Hospital and Friarage Hospital Northallerton and a number of community hospitals including Redcar Primary Care Hospital which has a rehabilitation Unit. James Cook University Hospital is a major trauma centre and provides a wide range of district general hospital services and specialist services.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be expected to have experience in Leadership as well as working in the community. Additionally the postholder will need to have experience of supervising staff and a good understanding of rehabilitation.
The Therapy Service is a well established large, progressive and dynamic service, which continues to develop within the wider trust. The team is friendly and supportive and mentorship for this role will be available from AHP Service Leads.
This post offers development in clinical and leadership skills and the post holder will be supported to attend relevant post graduate courses. We have an established and comprehensive training programme and our staff are encouraged and supported in their CPD through workshops, clinical supervision and the appraisal process. There is also an expectation to actively participate in audit and research as the hospital has close links with the local universities.

Person Specification
Qualifications & Training
* Hold a diploma or degree awarded by professional body OT or Physio
* Registered as fit to practice by professional body, e.g. Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
* Evidence of Post Graduate clinical training/ development relevant to role as Team Lead.
* Hold or be working towards MSc or relevant post graduate qualification
Experience
* Evidence of post graduate training/ experience in leadership
* Evidence of working within a community therapy service within the NHS
* Able to evidence senior team leadership experience
Knowledge and Skills
* Demonstrates a highly specialist clinical knowledge and skills relevant to rehabilitation
* Evidence of advanced clinical reasoning skills
* Demonstrate the ability to prioritise and co-ordinate the workload of a team
* Demonstrates evidence of teaching skills to a range of professionals
* Member of specialist interest group
