Offer description

Salary £45,943 to £77,196 per annum, pro rata (if applicable), depending on skills and experience. Closing Date Tuesday 26 May 2026 Reference MED702426 The School of Medicine are looking to appoint a Technology Enhanced Learning Education Fellow About the role The University of Nottingham School of Medicine is seeking a Technology Enhanced Learning Education Fellow to work across the whole undergraduate medicine course, supporting the delivery and development of technology-enhanced learning (TEL) within the clinical curriculum. This role will contribute to the development of TEL tools, approaches and strategies to be embedded within the new medical curriculum launching in 2026. You will work alongside other Medical Education Fellows to develop and support the delivery of centralised TEL resources related to the clinical components of the curriculum. This includes supporting students in the early years of the course, for example through the use of simulation and digital technologies for clinical skills development, as well as supporting students undertaking clinical placements. Your responsibilities will include the design, development, implementation and evaluation of TEL solutions across a range of platforms and learning environments. In addition, you will work with clinical supervisors and educators within partner NHS Trusts to support the effective integration of TEL into student education and training. Whilst no specific clinical component is offered within this role, it is a requirement that you maintain a regular clinical commitment in order to support revalidation with the GMC. Within the job plan, you will therefore be expected to participate in clinical practice and continuing professional development in a clinical area of your choice. About the team You will join a dynamic and forward-thinking team within the School of Medicine, working closely with colleagues involved in undergraduate medical education, curriculum development, simulation, clinical skills, assessment, and digital learning. The team is committed to delivering an innovative, inclusive and high-quality learning experience for students, with technology-enhanced learning playing a central role in the development of the new curriculum. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a major period of curriculum transformation, working collaboratively with academic, clinical and professional services colleagues across the University and partner NHS organisations. You will be supported by experienced educators and leaders who are committed to educational excellence, innovation, and the continuous improvement of the student experience. About you You will hold an MBBS or equivalent qualification and be GMC registered with a licence to practise. You will have strong all-round digital and computer literacy across a range of software packages and systems, including MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and Access. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, a high level of analytical capability to support conceptual thinking, innovation and creativity, and the ability to work effectively within a multi-professional team whilst valuing the contribution of colleagues from different professional backgrounds. You will have an understanding of key concepts in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, experience of working in undergraduate and postgraduate educational settings, and completion of UK Foundation Training or equivalent. Experience of simulation-based education, digital learning platforms, or the design and delivery of technology-enhanced learning would be advantageous. You will be enthusiastic, adaptable, and motivated to contribute to the development of an ambitious and modern medical curriculum. What we offer We are proud to offer a friendly, diverse and supportive working environment in which colleagues are encouraged to thrive and develop. This role benefits from a hybrid working arrangement, with a blended approach to home and on-campus working each week, depending on service and programme needs. You will benefit from a generous annual leave entitlement of 30 days per year (pro rata where applicable), plus standard bank holidays and five university closure days, including the closure period between Christmas and New Year. The University also offers an attractive range of benefits, including access to training and development opportunities, a highly competitive pension scheme, employee health and wellbeing support, family-friendly policies, and a reward and recognition scheme that celebrates excellent work and contribution. This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading School of Medicine at a pivotal stage in curriculum development, and to help shape the future of technology-enhanced medical education at the University of Nottingham. You will have access to a range of benefits and rewards, including fitness and health facilities, staff discounts, travel schemes and many more.
