Job Description
What will you be doing?
Are you a Mechanical Engineer looking to work on a cutting-edge nuclear project? This is your opportunity to contribute to an innovative and transformative programme within the nuclear sector, where your expertise will directly support the development of critical infrastructure for the future of clean energy.
Your main responsibilities will be:
1. Lead and support the design development for critical components, including airlocks, access hatches, fuel transfer channels, and nuclear doors.
2. Integrate into the Design Review (DR) process, ensuring designs meet governance and regulatory standards.
3. Produce key deliverables for DR5 reviews, including DFMEA, HAZID, human factors checklists, design calculations, material selection, and CAD drawings.
4. Conduct and lead DR5 reviews with stakeholders to ensure alignment and design compliance.
5. Collaborate with team members, both internal and external, to drive design success and meet project milestones.

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
1. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
2. Strong knowledge and experience with Design Reviews (DR), particularly DR5.
3. Familiarity with key engineering methodologies, such as DFMEA, HAZID, and PFMEA.
4. Ability to produce and manage high-quality technical documentation, including CAD drawings, calculations, and reports.
5. Proficiency in CAD software and DOORS modules.
6. 5+ years of experience working in multidisciplinary teams and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
