£75,000 – £85,000 + up to 10% bonus
Leading construction / renewables business
Opportunity
Join a dynamic and growing renewable energy contractor as a Contracts Manager, making a real impact in the onshore wind sector. As the Contracts Manager, you will be a key member of the UK commercial team, working with head contracts from award through to project completion. You’ll engage directly with both UK‑based and global stakeholders - bringing your commercial and contractual expertise to high‑value wind‑farm projects. This is your chance to step into a senior role where you shape contract strategy, lead negotiation and drive performance across the full project lifecycle. The Contracts Manager role offers a clear path of career growth, enabling you to build influence within a strong renewables business and increase your scope in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities
As Contracts Manager you will:
Manage upstream contracts (chiefly FIDIC‑based) between the business and its clients, ensuring all commercial and contractual obligations are properly administered through to completion.
Lead on claims and variation discussions — typically valued between £1m and £15m — collaborating with project managers, legal and commercial stakeholders to deliver optimal outcomes.
Identify contractual risk and opportunity, propose mitigation or enhancement strategies, and ensure the contract position is robust and aligned with business objectives.
Draft and review contract amendments, settlement agreements and correspondence, ensuring clarity and contractual integrity in all documentation.
Coordinate communications between clients, subcontractors and internal teams — acting as a single point for commercial/contractual clarity.
Provide monthly commercial and claims reporting to strict deadlines, maintaining full visibility of contract status, claims pipeline, and commercial exposure.
Occasionally travel to project sites (monthly) and to Germany (approx. twice a year) to engage with the global contracts function and support on‑site contractual matters.
What’s in it for you
A competitive salary of £75k–£85k plus up to a 10% bonus — reflecting your experience and the scale of the role.
Hybrid working pattern (2–3 days in the Manchester Didsbury office) with scope for more office presence during initial onboarding.
Work within a globally recognised leader in wind energy with strong UK operations and a meaningful project pipeline — offering stability and long‑term career opportunity.
Exposure to large‑scale EPC wind‑farm contracts (typically £50m‑£150m), offering you the chance to build experience in significant multi‑country, multi‑stakeholder projects.
Collaborative team culture where you can demonstrate commercial influence, progress your career and work in a respected, professional environment.
