£28,000 – £32,000 (dependent on experience)
Role Purpose
To support the delivery of high-quality parenting assessments within a residential family setting, contributing to observations, recordings, and day-to-day support of families under assessment.
This is a development role, designed for individuals progressing into family assessment work
Key Responsibilities
* Assessment Support
* Support structured observations of parent–child interactions
* Record daily observations clearly, factually, and in line with assessment frameworks
* Contribute to evidence gathering under direction of senior staff
* Direct Work with Families
* Build professional, boundary relationships with parents
* Support routines (feeding, sleep, emotional regulation guidance)
* Model safe and appropriate parenting behaviours where required
Person Specification
Essential
* Experience working with children, families, or in residential care
* Experience in a Health and Social Care setting
* Basic understanding of safeguarding and child development
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desirable
* Level 3 qualification (Children & Young People / Health & Social Care or equivalent)
* Exposure to family assessment environments
* Understanding of trauma-informed practice
Progression Path
* Family Assessment Practitioner (within 12–18 months)
* Level 3 qualification (Children & Young People / Health & Social Care or equivalent) - within 12–18 months
