Organisational With direction and support from the Head of Assurance/Data Protection Officer: Support the identification and prioritisation of an information governance programme linked to organisational and national priorities.

Analyse data and prepare regular reports for the Information Management and Technology Committee to provide assurance relating to progress with the information governance programme and highlighting any risks identified to be considered for escalation to Board.

Lead the delivery of training related to information governance across the organisation.

Build, develop and maintain information resources pertinent to information governance.

Lead on the development and dissemination of policies, protocols and guidelines linked to the information governance programme.

Lead on the monitoring of compliance with guidance linked to the information governance programme.

Be a main point of contact for leadership and professional advice to staff, senior managers, the executive management team, and board on information governance.

Contribute to the effective integration of information governance with other quality, governance, and assurance initiatives, including incidents and complaints.

Support the development and maintenance of gtds central systems for co-ordinating and demonstrating compliance with its information governance programme, e.g. the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, the Information Sharing Gateway, Ulysses (used for incident reporting and logging of requests for information), Work alongside the Request for Information (RFI) Manager to ensure compliance with individual rights under UK data protection legislation.

To provide additional support and cover arrangements for the RFI Manager.

Deputise for the Data Protection Officer.

Build and maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders including patients and their representatives, staff, commissioners, other information governance teams, etc.

Represent the IG team at relevant forums.

Provide support to gtd services and partners for the annual data security and protection toolkit submission.

Provide support to gtd services and partners in the completion of data privacy impact assessments and data sharing agreements.

Support the work of the Greater Manchester Urgent and Primary Care Alliance Information Governance Group.

Experience in the field of information governance/data protection is essential, with additional relevant education/training desirable.

Information governance team Support the Head of Assurance in the recruitment, selection, induction and training of new governance team members, including temporary staff.

Undertake line management responsibilities for designated information governance team members.

Delegate tasks appropriately to the relevant Senior/Governance Officers.

Deputise and provide cover for other information governance team managers as appropriate to ensure the effective representation at relevant governance functions.

Liaise and seek support from other governance function managers, e.g.

Head of Risk and Safety, Head of Patient Experience and Inclusion, as necessary.

Be prepared to use own initiative and act independently within own sphere of responsibility and competencies.

Contribute to the effectiveness of the team by reflecting on own and teams activities and making suggestions on ways to improve and enhance the teams performance.

Personal and professional development The post holder will participate in any training activity implemented by gtd healthcare as part of this employment, such activity to include: Assessing own performance and taking accountability for own actions, either directly or under supervision.

Effectively managing own time, workload and resources Participation in an annual performance review (appraisal), including taking responsibility for maintaining a record of own development activity.

Taking responsibility for own development and learning by following through objectives set at appraisal.

Ensuring attendance at identified training events.

Attending induction training, mandatory training and mandatory updates as required.

Other duties Any other duties, as agreed with the line manager to meet the needs of the organisation.

This may include travel to other sites within the organisation.
