A growing, specialist manufacturer and global importer/exporter is seeking a Financial Controller to take ownership of its finance function. With a turnover of c£30M and an international client base, the business delivers high-value, bespoke products to customers worldwide and operates in a fast-paced, project-led environment.
This is a key leadership role offering real influence, working closely with senior management to provide financial insight, strengthen controls and support continued growth.
The RoleYou will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong cashflow visibility and effective financial management across the business.
Key Responsibilities:
* Own monthly close, management accounts and balance sheet control
* Manage project accounting, WIP, revenue recognition and rolling cashflow forecasting
* Provide clear financial reporting and business partnering to the leadership team
* Oversee UK and international VAT, duties and indirect compliance
* Drive improvements to finance processes, systems, controls and data quality
Skills & Experience:
* Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
* Experience in a Financial Controller or Head of Finance role or similar within a SME
* Strong knowledge of project accounting, working capital and cashflow management
* Experience operating in a multi-currency or international trading environment
* Hands-on, commercially minded and comfortable working closely with Directors
