Teaching Assistant – Bank Contract
Location: Grateley House School, Grateley, Andover, Hampshire SP11 8TA
Pay: £12.60 per hour
Hours: As required (term time only)
Applicants must hold a driving licence and be willing to drive school vehicles
About Us
Grateley House School is a successful 38-week specialist day school for young people aged 11–19 with a diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Disorder (typically high functioning and/or with associated disorders). Rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, we provide a broad, balanced, and challenging curriculum, preparing students for successful lives beyond school.
We currently support 36 students, with planned growth over the next three years.
About the Role
This is a rewarding role suited to individuals motivated to support children and young people with special educational needs. It’s also excellent experience for anyone considering a career in teaching. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting students in lessons and during non-structured time
* Transporting and supporting students at college (driving required)
* Assisting teachers with preparation of work, resources, and equipment
* Supporting students during on- and off-site activities
* Completing paperwork to record observations and interventions
What We’re Looking For
* Previous classroom experience desirable but not essential – full training given
* Minimum of GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent)
* Commitment to personal learning and development
* Enthusiastic, focused, and resilient attitude
