Spencers Wood Day Nursery and Preschool, located in Reading, is hiring a Team Leader. The role involves caring for, supporting, and inspiring children.
Salary
£13.40 - £14.60 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, with regular pay reviews.
Key Responsibilities
* Promote high standards of quality within the nursery.
* Support and supervise playroom staff with day‑to‑day duties.
* Deploy staff appropriately to ensure required standards are delivered and maintained within rooms.
* Ensure effective implementation of nursery keycarer procedures and allocate children to keycarers appropriately.
* Ensure that practice and provision meets Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) requirements.
* Provide professional, relevant feedback to parents/carers about their child.
* Promote the nursery to current parents and potential customers.
* Develop open and positive working relationships with staff.
* Ensure all staff develop and maintain friendly, professional relationships with parents and carers.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Relevant experience in early years childcare; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
* Qualified to a nationally recognised early years standard (e.g., Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT) or equivalent).
* Strong knowledge of EYFS and ability to embed its principles in daily practice.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
* Enhanced DBS check obtained for the role.
