Finance Manager
Location: Liverpool Street, London (Hybrid: 2 days per week onsite)
Reporting to: Director of Finance & Operations
Salary: 65-70k
Contract: 12-month ftc
Overview
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join a mission‑driven investment organisation that operates across both commercial and non-profit financial activities. You'll work closely with senior leadership and act as the No. 2 in the finance function, taking ownership of day‑to‑day operations, month‑end processes, reporting, and supporting strategic growth.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
Oversee day‑to‑day financial operations and supervise junior finance staff.
Lead month‑end close, including preparation and review of journals, P&L, balance sheet, and consolidated reports.
Produce and present monthly management packs and financial analysis.
Manage statutory reporting, governance requirements, tax obligations (VAT, Corporation Tax etc.) across multiple entities.
Prepare statutory accounts and support external audits, ensuring deadlines are met.Investment Support & Business Partnering
Work closely with investment and operations teams to provide analysis, insight, and financial modelling.
Support reporting across various funds and financial instruments (loans, debt, equity).
Partner with stakeholders across the organisation to embed finance into wider decision‑making.Financial Planning & Strategic Support
Support the Director of Finance with budgeting, forecasting, and risk management.
Contribute to long‑term financial planning and organisational strategy.
Provide cashflow oversight in collaboration with the Management Accountant.Systems, Processes & Continuous Improvement
Drive improvements across finance processes to enhance control, efficiency, and accuracy.
Play a key role in systems upgrades, data migration, and optimising reporting tools.
Strengthen financial controls and ensure robust compliance standards.Ad‑hoc Projects
Provide portfolio analysis, investment reporting, and support wider operational and financial projects.
Undertake ad‑hoc financial analysis as required.Essential Skills & Experience
Fully qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA or equivalent).
Strong experience managing full month‑end processes and financial operations.
Background in investment management or roles supporting investment decisions is highly desirable.
Experience working in a fast-paced, lean, or start‑up-style environment.
Strong understanding of UK GAAP & IFRS.
Experience preparing statutory accounts and working with auditors.
Advanced Excel skills, strong analytical ability, and comfortable working with large datasets.
Ability to simplify complex financial information for non‑finance stakeholders.Key Attributes
