Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Dorking for a skilled and proactive Ecologist. The Ecologist will conduct field surveys for protected species and habitats, complete ecological assessments, and contribute to Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs). Additional responsibilities include preparing professional reports, assisting in securing necessary permits, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements. Collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders is a key part of the role.
Qualifications
* Experience and knowledge in conducting wildlife surveys and assessments
* Strong report writing skills and ability to produce clear, concise, and accurate documents
* Field work experience, with a focus on protected species and habitat surveys
* Proficiency in botany and plant identification
* Knowledge and experience in Environmental Impact Assessments
* A recognized degree or qualification in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
* Good communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects
* Holding a valid driver’s license is essential
* Desirable qualifications include licenses for protected species surveys and experience applying for European Protected Species Licences
