Reliability Engineer (Controls and Automation)
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Reliability Engineer with a strong background in Controls and Automation to join our dynamic team at Bellshill. The role is critical to ensuring the reliability and efficiency of our manufacturing operations by driving proactive maintenance strategies, implementing continuous improvement initiatives, and leading the integration of advanced automation technologies. You'll aim to improve plant reliability, focusing on obsolescence of existing technology and its replacement with new systems. You'll also support the Bottling Team Leaders in leading and developing the Maintenance team.
What you’ll be doing
* Develop and implement preventive maintenance strategies to increase the reliability of controls and automation equipment.
* Create detailed I/O lists and wiring diagrams for current installations to facilitate troubleshooting.
* Plan for the replacement of obsolete electrical components across bottling assets.
* Lead reliability projects focused on instrumentation and automation systems including PLCs, SCADA, HMI’s, and operational IT networks.
* Introduce new technology to production to improve performance and collaborate with the projects team to enhance system integration.
* Provide daily technical support for team leaders and technicians, acting as the lead coordinator for escalating maintenance or breakdown support.
Qualifications and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Automation Engineering is desirable but not essential.
* 5+ years experience in a manufacturing environment with strong knowledge of controls and automation standards and systems.
* Fluent in PLC programming languages (e.g., Siemens, B&R, Allen Bradley).
* Qualified to minimum HNC/HND level in an Engineering discipline.
* Experience in an RCM-driven environment.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety and Continuous Improvement techniques.
* Understanding of technical aspects relevant to an FMCG environment.
* Proven leadership skills, capable of setting objectives, managing performance, and developing team members.
