Key Responsibilities Develop Comprehensive Care Plans: Create and oversee tailored care plans addressing each young person’s educational, emotional, social, and health needs. Build and Lead a Strong Team: Recruit, develop, and retain a skilled and motivated team, ensuring stability and consistency for the young people in your care. Promote Young People’s Voices: Implement systems to ensure every young person is actively involved in shaping their care and home life. Ensure Quality and Compliance: Maintain and monitor high standards in line with National Minimum Standards and the home’s Statement of Purpose. Safeguard and Support: Take responsibility for managing any safeguarding concerns or complaints, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all children in the home. Collaborate Effectively: Work in partnership with families, carers, local authorities, and other professionals to support each young person’s progress. Lead with Vision: Create a culture of respect, learning, and empowerment within your team. Commercial and Operational Management: Ensure effective budget management and sustainable home operations without compromising quality of care. Essential Requirements A genuine passion for supporting and empowering young people in care. Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a residential childcare role, including at least 1 year in a supervisory position within the last 5 years. Qualification: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to complete within 6 months of appointment. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and safeguarding practices. Skills: Strong leadership, planning, budgeting, and organisational abilities. Understanding of Trauma: Experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural, and social difficulties, using trauma-informed approaches. Full UK Driving Licence required.
