Brocklesby Lodge is a 7 bedin-patient rehabilitation lodge, and works holistically with individuals toidentify their needs and goals, formulate a rehabilitation plan and provide anappropriate level of support in order to promote recovery and achieve a greaterlevel of independence.
We'reseeking a qualified nurse practitioner with relevant mental health experience. Youwill ensure that individuals' needs are identified and safely met in the leastrestrictive environment in accordance with established/prescribed models,internal policy and legal frameworks including, but not limited to, The CareAct 2014, Mental Health Act 1983 and Mental Capacity Act 2005. As part of amulti-disciplinary team, this role will deputise for senior colleagues,supervise junior colleagues and be integral to ensuring the clinical effectivenessof the lodge through assessment, provision and delivery of biopsychosocialinterventions pertaining to all aspects of health and recovery.
Main duties of the job
Provideassessment based on rehabilitation need.
Plan andensure provision of appropriate treatment to promote physical wellbeing and supportmental health recovery.
Liaise withcolleagues, external organisations and stakeholders in order to co-ordinate appropriateintervention, care and support.
Work withinscope of own training, experience, practice and applicable legal frameworks.
Demonstrateand embed Navigo Code of Conduct through attitude, behaviour, leadership andpractice.
Takeresponsibility for time management whilst balancing sometimes competingpriorities.
Manage service and owncaseload.
Be the senior colleagueresponsible for the rehabilitation lodge, colleagues and the individuals underthe care of the service.
Medications management.
Deputise for seniorcolleagues.
Supervise junior colleaguesand students.
Deliver group and 1:1interventions.
Work autonomously and as partof a multi-disciplinary team.
Attend and lead onclinical and non-clinical meetings.

Job responsibilities
Ensure a highstandard of nursing input in the application of clinical procedures, includingassessment, risk assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation,medication management, physical investigations and implementation of theRecovery Approach.
1.2 To liaisewith the ward manager in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of care, inline with national, local and Navigo policy, through supervision of juniorstaff and audit processes.
1.3 Toundertake incident/accident reports, safeguarding, complaints, investigationsto ensure the safe running of the unit
Specificresponsibilities in the following domains, to include:
2. Clinical
2.1 Attendanceat weekly M.D.T meetings and effective presentation of clinical reports andinformation.
2.2 Liaisonwith other M.D.T disciplines to ensure effective team working and consistentapproaches to care delivery.
2.3 Overseethe effective delivery of the MDT process.
2.4 Overseethe correct implementation of negotiated care plans
2.5 Supervisethe completion of nursing reports by Key/Associate Nurses (C.P.A/S117, M.H.R.T,Hospital Managers, and MDT) in keeping with specified and statutory timescales.
2.6 Attendanceat six monthly patient C.P.A/S117 meetings.
2.7 Attendanceat M.H.R.T and/or Hospital Managers Hearings in the absence of the Key/AssociateNurse.
2.8 Ensureeffective management of medication through training delivery, and carry outaudits to ensure adherence to M.H.C. policy and N.M.C. guidelines.
2.9 OverseeKey Nurse liaison with external Care Co-ordinators and Commissioners.
2.10 Disseminationof action points from Clinical Governance meetings
2.11 Supportthe ward manager in conducting and addressing issues of complaints andinvestigations.
2.12 Liaisewith the ward manager in addressing issues involving whistle blowing.
2.13 Liaisewith Key/Associate Nurse and ward manager in establishing and maintainingtherapeutic relationships with service users family (where appropriate).
2.14 Ensureadequate staffing to cover unit requirements and liaise with ward manager toaddress any deficits, taking into consideration financial budgets.
2.15 Carryout assessment visits as part of the M.D.T, assessing potential patients andpreparing assessment and treatment reports.
2.16 Monitor,undertake and oversee ward based risk assessments and management Plans.
3. Managerial
3.1 Carry outand monitor annual appraisals of nursing staff and support workers, as directedby ward manager and ensure regular evaluation of PDRs.
3.2 Havedirect line management for staff nurses, nursing associates and nursingassistants.
3.3 Undertake,monitor and ensure monthly supervision of nursing staff.
3.4 Chairingmonthly ward staff meetings, ensuring delegation and implementation of actionpoints.
3.5 ProvideMentorship/Preceptorship to newly qualified or newly appointed nursing staff(including nursing students, where applicable).
3.6 Liaisewith ward manager in the identification of external and in house training(including mandatory training) for specified staff.
3.7 Providetemporary cover for ward manager in the event of their absence, as required bythe Hospital Manager.
3.8 Undertakeinterviewing of new ward staff, at nursing and support level.
3.0 Attendanceat the morning staffing meeting in the absence of the ward manager.
3.12 Supportthe ward manager in all personal related issues.
4. Documentation
4.1 Overseeand Co-ordinate monthly audit of all office files and develop and implementaction plans to address identified deficits.
4.2 Co-ordinatemonthly clinic audits and implement action points to address any identifieddeficits.
4.3 Monthlyinput of KPI data, including senior nurse report, training, supervisions,appraisals, revalidation and sickness monitoring.
4.4 Ensureservice user finances are managed according to M.H.C policy and assist withaudit as required.
4.5 Inconjunction with the Clinical Administrator, monitor and ensure that legalprocesses and documentation are in line with MHA (1983) guidelines and M.H.Cpolicy and procedures.
4.6 Supportthe Associate Director of Nursing and Quality in the completion of contractualand commissioner relating documentation.
5. Recovery
5.1 Overseethe completion of individual weekly therapeutic timetable.
5.2 Monitorthe implementation of ward structured day, including the specified hours ofmeaningful activity.
5.3 Reviewthe completion of monthly audit of Recovery focused 1:1 Key Worker and KeyNurse discussion.
5.4 Monitorthree-monthly review of Recovery Star by Key/Associate Nurse or Key SupportWorker. Monitor monthly review of HoNoS. Monitor monthly patient file auditsand oversee actions required and monitor that they have been completed.

Person Specification
Experience
* 18 months experience working within a relevant mental health service with service users with acute or severe and enduring mental health needs.
* Experience of working with service users with complex and challenging needs
