Position Purpose
Working with the Head of Commercial Analytics to make recommendations on pricing activity to the business
The Commercial Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all pricing is processed correctly and captured into our business systems
Identifying opportunities to develop new reports and analytics to deliver pricing insights and drive higher levels of business performance.
Maintain & develop pricing tools & processes
Responsibilities and Accountability
1) Pricing Management
1.1)Maintaining pricing data on ERP system
1.2)Special price reviews and processing
1.3)Provide detailed price/discount reporting
1.4)Customer price lists – development and maintenance
1.5)Provide backup for special pricing and rebate claim review and approvals
1.6)Pricing Tool Maintenance
1.7)Input to and testing of new ERP system
2) Channel Data Management
2.1)Channel Data Management (CDM) system EMEA Lead, sell out and inventory, data management and analytics including monthly board pack reporting.
2.2)Management of CDM partners, working with external supplier to onboard new partners and manage existing partners
2.3)Work with IT & service providers to ensure data is complete and accurate
3) Business Intelligence
3.1)Develop business intelligence tools to analyse and share pricing/sales data across the business
3.2)Drive accountability across the sales organisation and provide insights and strategic support
3.3)Identifying opportunities to develop new reports and analytics to deliver insights and drive higher levels of business performance
3.4)Ad-hoc reporting for strategic accounts & partners, enabling self-serve wherever possible
Essential qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience:
* Advanced IT skills, particularly Excel
* Experience of maintaining large data sets, ideally pricing or sales related
* A commercial mind-set with the ability to analyse the output of models beyond the reporting of financial data, providing in-depth business insight
* Continuous improvement – a driver of transformational change
* Effective time management and organisational skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to create and manage effective relationships with colleagues and stakeholders
* Attention to detail – a zero error ethic
* Bachelor's degree (optional)
Desired Skills, knowledge and experience:
* Microsoft Power BI report development (or other reporting software) / SQL / data management skills
* Microsoft Dynamics 365 and/or Salesforce knowledge & experience, particularly pricing related
* Experience with distribution channels
* Strong teamwork, successfully engages with others to build and maintain positive relationships
* Well organised
* Additional European language
