Dorset Studio School has a vacancy for a Finance Manager to join the team. You will be responsible for ensuring high standards of financial integrity within the school, managing monthly and year-end financial processes, and ensuring compliance with the Academies Financial Handbook.
You will collaborate with the School Business Manager, Principal, and Senior Leaders to ensure effective strategic decision-making, implement standardised processes, and manage the school's finances.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce and issue financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and returns timely
* Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for the Local Governing Body
* Develop the annual budget and reforecasts for approval
* Ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures
* Act as Chief Financial Officer for the school
* Maintain finance records suitable for audits
* Manage finance staff, including training, induction, and performance reviews
* Work with senior leaders to manage finances and strategic planning
* Identify income opportunities through bids and grants
* Work with SENCO to secure high needs funding
* Promote initiatives for compliance, value for money, and best practices
Qualification Criteria
* Right to work in the UK
* Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACCA, AAT, CIMA)
