Male Support Worker Intensive Support Team (Positive Behaviour Support)

Join our Intensive Support Team and make a real difference every day. We are looking for a compassionate, person-centred individual to support people who may experience emotional distress or have diverse communication and support needs, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will use Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and trauma-informed approaches to help individuals build relationships, achieve personal goals, and live purposeful, meaningful lives.
Hours
Working shifts on a rota basis covering a 24-hour support service across 7 days a week.
For the Male IST Support Worker role, the hours are 32 hours / 24 hours on alternate weeks (average 28 hours per week ).
Key Responsibilities
Deliver person-centred support in line with individual care and PBS plans.
Support with personal care, meals, medication, daily living, and community activities.
Use de-escalation techniques and trauma-informed approaches to respond to distress.
Promote safeguarding, dignity, inclusion, and emotional wellbeing.
Maintain accurate records and work closely with colleagues and professionals.
Contribute to support plans, risk assessments, and ongoing development.
Skills & Experience
Experience supporting people with learning disabilities and emotional distress (2 years preferred).
Understanding of Positive Behaviour Support and trauma-informed practice.
Calm, empathetic, and able to work well under pressure.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Flexible to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.
Qualifications
Level 2 Health & Social Care or Care Certificate (required).
GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Maths.
Level 3 Health & Social Care preferred.
