It's a mix of physical work and driving, so you'll need to be comfortable with both.Key Responsibilities:Tank Wash DutiesCarry out internal and external cleaning of tankers and trailers to company and industry standardsOperate tank washing equipment, including high-pressure hoses and cleaning systemsFollow strict procedures for cleaning different product types to avoid contaminationComplete all relevant cleaning documentation and certification accuratelyDispose of waste materials in accordance with environmental regulationsEnsure wash bay areas are kept clean, organised, and safe at all timesShunter Driver DutiesSafely manoeuvre and position trailers, tankers, and vehicles within the yard and designated areasCouple and uncouple trailers in line with company proceduresConduct daily vehicle and trailer safety checks, reporting any defects promptlyEnsure correct parking, alignment, and allocation of trailers for loading/unloadingMaintain clear communication with transport planners, drivers, and warehouse staffAdhere to all site speed limits, traffic rules, and health & safety regulationsAssist with yard organisation to maximise efficiency and safetyHealth & SafetyComply with all company health, safety, and environmental policiesUse personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times as requiredIdentify hazards and report unsafe conditions immediatelyFollow safe systems of work, particularly when handling cleaning chemicals and equipmentSkills & Experience RequiredValid HGV Class 1 (C+E) licence (preferred but not essential)Previous experience in a shunting, yard operative, or similar roleExperience with tanker operations or tank cleaning (desirable)Good understanding of health & safety practices within a transport or industrial environmentAbility to work independently and as part of a teamStrong attention to detail and commitment to high standardsGood communication skillsWorking HoursMonday to Friday from 8am to 5pmOvertime may be available depending on operational needsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditionsPhysically fit to handle manual tasks and operate equipmentComfortable working at height and in confined spaces (training provided where necessary)Additional InformationThis role combines operational driving responsibilities with specialist cleaning duties.
